Island Halal Mart was born from a deeply personal journey — the experience of leaving Bangladesh and building a new life in America, while holding tightly to the flavors, traditions, and community that make home feel like home.
We know what it means to walk into a grocery store and not find the Hilsa fish your mother used to cook, or the mustard oil your grandmother swore by. That feeling of longing is what drove us to open this store.
